Site Preparation and Temporary Facilities at Naval Air Weapons Station (NAWS) China Lake, CA

Construction

The construction of this facility consisted of clearing and grading of the site, installation of a complete utility infrastructure and placement of all site concrete sidewalks and curbs. Additionally, it required paving and providing lighting for a new parking lot, completing all lateral utility connections, and completion of all off-site improvements.

The most significant demand of this project was the design, manufacturing and installation of the 22,000 square foot modular office building designed in conformance with the Request for Proposal (RFP). The project contract required the contractor to provide a design and provide and install all office furnishings which included everything from fax machines and other office equipment down to the coffee pots. The number of personnel being relocated, and in particular the timing of that move, made the timeline extremely aggressive; 90 days from design to move-in.
